Advance Fire & Security Welcomed as a Probationary FIA Member

Advance Fire & Security is pleased to announce that we have been welcomed as a probationary member of the Fire Industry Association, commonly known as the FIA.

This is an important step for our business and reflects our continued commitment to working to recognised industry standards, staying informed on technical developments and providing customers with reliable, professional fire safety support.

Our probationary FIA membership has been granted as part of our route towards BAFE SP203-1 approval for Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems. The BAFE SP203-1 scheme covers the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems, supporting recognised standards across this important area of fire safety.

Who Are the Fire Industry Association?

The Fire Industry Association is the UK’s largest fire safety trade association, representing more than 1,200 members across the sector.

As a not-for-profit organisation, the FIA works to raise standards across the fire protection industry through representation, training, technical guidance, research and industry updates. Its work supports companies across a wide range of fire safety disciplines, helping members stay connected with changes in legislation, standards, good practice and professional development.

For businesses operating in the fire safety sector, FIA membership is a recognised way to stay engaged with the wider industry and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing improvement.

What Does FIA Membership Mean?

Becoming a probationary FIA member gives Advance Fire & Security access to a range of member resources, including technical updates, training information, events, industry correspondence and official documentation.

For our team, this means we can continue to strengthen our knowledge, keep up to date with industry changes and remain connected to the conversations that shape fire safety standards in the UK.

It also supports our wider commitment to delivering fire and security services with care, professionalism and accountability.

Why is This Important for Our Customers?

Fire safety is not an area where businesses can afford to stand still. Standards, guidance and best practice continue to evolve, and it is important that fire safety providers remain informed and proactive.

Our FIA probationary membership helps support this by giving us access to relevant industry updates and professional resources. This benefits our customers by helping us stay aligned with current expectations across the fire safety sector.

Our route towards BAFE SP203-1 approval also reflects our commitment to the standards expected for fire detection and fire alarm systems, including design, installation, commissioning and maintenance.

For customers, this provides added reassurance that Advance Fire & Security is continuing to invest in knowledge, standards and professional development.

A Continued Commitment to Standards

This membership is part of our ongoing development as a fire and security provider. As a probationary FIA member, we now have access to valuable industry insight, guidance and updates that will support our team and the customers we work with.

We are proud to be taking this step and look forward to making full use of the knowledge, resources and opportunities available through the association.

Above all, this supports what matters most to us: helping our customers protect their people, property and premises with trusted fire and security solutions.
