These facilities store and distribute medicines and healthcare products nationwide. As pharmaceutical distribution sites, they operate under Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines, which require medicines to be stored and handled within secure, access-controlled environments.

Our relationship with the client began around three years ago, when Advance Fire & Security was first asked to assist with system maintenance at one of their distribution sites. Following the successful delivery of that work, the partnership expanded, with our engineers now responsible for supporting both the security infrastructure and fire safety systems across the client’s key UK distribution hubs.

Full System Upgrade at the Largest UK Facility

More recently, Advance Fire & Security delivered a complete upgrade of both the security and fire protection systems at the organisation’s largest UK distribution facility.

The project involved replacing and upgrading key infrastructure across the site to improve monitoring capability, strengthen access control and ensure the facility’s fire safety systems continued to meet regulatory requirements.

Our engineers carried out:

  • Installation of a new high-definition CCTV system covering key operational and perimeter areas
  • Implementation of a modern access control system to manage staff and visitor access across secure areas of the site
  • Installation of a new intruder alarm system protecting operational and storage zones
  • Upgrades and commissioning of the site’s fire alarm systems

Alongside the system upgrades, our team continues to support the facility with fire extinguisher servicing and fire risk assessments, helping ensure the site maintains full compliance with current fire safety regulations.
